Hola friends!
My name is Jowell. I was born in Puerto Rico, moved to the United States as a toddler, and am now a 20 year ol’ guy studying my life away up at SUNY Binghamton (thanks financial aid!).
The purpose of this fundraiser is for my FTM (female-to-male) medical transition. My insurance covers 0% of both the testosterone treatments and top surgery. My insurance company deemed them medically unnecessary and thus, I have to pay out of pocket.
However, this does not come easy. I am currently unemployed and am coming from a tough background. My mother is a single mother and my entire family is on welfare…and nobody in my family approves of my gender identity nor would ever pay for my transition. My mom is the only one who “accepts” me but refuses to assist me in my transition, and it is up to me to come up with the money.
I feel as if this transition is necessary for my gender expression and for my mental and emotional health, as well as overall well-being.
My goal is $1,800
This would cover my testosterone treatments for the next 12 months ($200 per month). I only have $600 of the total $2,400 needed, so I am reaching out to all of you for assistance in raising the rest.
Any and all donations would be more than welcome, SINCERELY appreciated, and a huge help. If you are not able to donate but can help spread the word (like reblogging this post or sending the link out), that would also be a tremendous help.
Again, the goal is $1,800 which would cover a FULL YEAR’S worth of treatment.

after work i drove to the next town over to get smokes because i only had like one left. it was stupid. i shouldn’t have. i’m going over tomorrow morning for class, i should’ve just fucking waited.

after buying my stupid fucking cigarettes, i turned down a road, the wrong road, it was a dead end, not what i wanted. i figured i’d turn around at the end, but there were cars there. so i backed up…
and into a fucking car. i wasn’t cruising, but it sure did dent the front of the car i hit.
i didn’t know what to do. i left a bunch of sticky notes on their car. i tried knocking on their door. i didn’t know if i should call the cops so i didn’t… i probably should have. omg i’m freaking the fuck out i want to die.
i told my mom. there’s at least that.
